Parts

Hey everybody,
I usually don't post on this part of the boards, but I'll be doing some work on my Dad's Mustang with him when I'm home over break. We are going to replace the master break cylinder, the rear leaf springs, and the radiator. My question for all of you is what is a good reliable parts place (online or SoCal area). Right now I'm looking at cal-mustang.com . Thanks!

Also if there's fluid leaking out of the master cylinder is it best to replace the booster and the cylinder or just the cylinder? Last time I was home we were able to put fluid in and had pressure that the breaks worked fine, but it leaks at a pretty steady rate.

I use National Parts Depot, and CJ Pony parts. CJ has free shipping which is nice.

for rockauto or advance auto parts. As for the bake booster, try the new master cylinder first and if everything works ok you're done, if not then you can replace the booster.

You don't like CJ? I had some issues with them as well. I order some windshield trim and what they sent me was very cheaply made. I sent it back to them, and all they would give me was a store credit since I didn't get an RMA.

We ended up going with Cal-Mustang, after a little looking we discovered that my Dad worked not too far from them so he just stopped on his way home from work. We'll be putting the rear leaf's on hopefully in the next couple days... Thanks again for the info.!

I had some quality issues with the trim from CJ Pony. Too thin, too cheap, unusable, had to send it back.

I'm not sure I'm going to be ordering from them in the future because of that.

Yes, I've had issues with that as well. I don't order from companies with too many back orders. There's too many companies out there that have the parts in stock.

I did not buy trim from them but everything else has been ok (other than the back orders). Has anyone used Midland Automotive in Montgomery?

There's two good sources in SoCal. The first is National Parts Depot on Donlon Road in Ventura, CA (www.npd.com) and Mustangs & More off of Valentine Road in Ventura, CA. Both are exciting stores and NPD specializes in a whole lot of Vintage Muscle cars.
