oil pressure specs

i have a 65 mustang with a 200 ci 6 cyl. recently installed an oil pressure gage in the same port that the idiot light connects to. at idle and 1800 rpm oil pressure is 40 psi. just wondering if this is acceptable. the engine has 70k miles, runs 30 wt nd oil and i dont believe it has ever been rebuilt. thanks in advance for your reply

Gosh, all I asked for was the acceptable oil pressure for a 200ci. 14 days and 365 looky looks later and not even an "I think" response.
glad I didnt ask for tire pressure readings

Unfortunately, there is not a lot of activity for classic Mustangs on here.

.. yes .. without the rocket city mustang club being active anymore there is rarely any interest here ... you have a very solid engine .. an idiot lite will come on at like 7 LBs of oil pressure or less .. as long as you maintain 20 or more PSI you will be fine ..
