New Antenna

I want to replace the stock antenna.
Is the only way to get to it by taking off the front fender?

nope. Take off the top plate, then lower it down in the hole a bit and unscrew the bottom plate (the one with the 'key' on it) with needle-nose pliers or something, then turn it and fish it out of the hole. No need to pull the fender.

Also, I got to pulling off the door panels this weekend. It wasn't bad.
