so I have a 66 mustang coupe its s straight 6 200ci. I just decide to rebuild the carb witch is a single barrel 1100 carb and car was run fine befor rebuild just did it to clean it up. we put it back on now car runs terribly misfire want to stall out if Im not playing with the choke. we tokok it aprt again made sure everything was good and it was and it still wasnt working right we did sll the right adjustments so looked on line and a after finding that, that ford carb suck just to see if it was the actual carb that wasn't working we put a carb from a 50 Chevy truck exta card that we had it ran great. so it turned out to be that 1100 carb. so basically I wanted to kno what other carb I can use that will go or fit on my car ???

If it was running fine before the rebuild, the carb is not the issue.

Sorry, I wasn't clear at all in what I posted.

I noted that you said it was running fine before the rebuild. So the original carb itself is likely not the issue. Something is amiss with the rebuild kit or something went awry on the re-install. I notice you have a couple of threads going on this, including one which suggests issues with the rebuild kit. But that is only a guess from a distance!

yeah I started a couple but basically we rebuilt it cause it had a small gas leak. so after rebuild was complete we put it back on and nothing. so then we took it apart made sure everything was right check *****, weight, float, gaskets, ect. and everything seem to be in place. but still not running right. so we check all differ stuff online and we seem to be doing everything right. but still not running right so just to see what would happen we put an extra carb we had from a 50 Chevy truck and it fit right in and run great like it should with that carb. we don't know why the other carb isnt work we checked it theroly and its not working. any suggestion?

no one can tell you online what has gone wrong .. you will just have to replace it or have a mechanic look at it
