that's lame that they have rights to it. that's like harrison ford having the rights to the name "millenium falcon"

It's not like that at all. Steve McQueen owned Solar Productions, the company that produced Bullitt. Warner Bros. was the distributor. It would be more like George Lucas having the Millenium Falcon rights.

here is one that is/was built in Stockton CA, at Mustang Plus! I had a chance to see the car, it is aboslutely BEAUTIFUL,

They will be cool but not reasonably priced. Ground up restorations are going through the roof. What would be cool would be if the drivetrain and suspension are upgraded.

Fit a few upgraded suspension parts (just to keep it drivable) and your well on the way to a very nice replica.

I think it should have one of these in it. Who cares about the suspension as long as it has good brakes or a chute!

Somebody there needs to learn how to use an orbital polisher. I can see the swirl marks from here.

I don't get the point. this is a very simple car to emulate, why would anyone need to buy something rather then making one themselves?

Why not the '08 instead? As iconic as the '68 is, the '08 has nothing to envy. Perhaps nostalgia but nothing else.

The most recent Eleanor was a 1967; or do people not make a distinction? Anyway, fastbacks do seem to command a silly premium. I know fewer were made and they look better (IMO) than a typical coupe, but prices are increasingly exorbitant.

They dont really....becuase you can use the same Eleanor parts with a '68. So...Both 67 and 68 are in demand for eleanor clones.

It would be like someone doing a GT500 conversion on a 2005 or 2006 S197
