kyles never ending '68 project

Here's the Eaton Unit right out of the box, I guess it uses helical gears to lock up both axles, and the 2nd pic is what was left of my spider gears, is that what you were looking for? Or were you looking for a picture of the housing installed? If you do I'll have to run out and grab a pic.
BTW photobucket for the win! I guess I CAN use attatchments! Woot!

I figured as long as I was uploading some pictures I'd take some current ones, you can see the "new" distributor and carb finally.

these are post primer pictures with my new hood it fits just about as "great as my old hood did which wasn't very good even after fiddling with the hinges all day I realized my fenders are to tight with my cowl and that's why it fits the way it does, I figure I'll just keep it the way it is untill I get some replacement fenders (bondo probs). As you can see it's still withought a grill, I do have a grill I plan on fabricating in though it's a 2009 mustang GT grill I acquired for free after someone hit and run my friends mustang in a parking lot, even though the grill really well it's just a tad narrow, only thing is before I start fanning anything I need to replace my two damaged headlight buckets to insure a nice fit. It's going to look nice with those big fog lights they will really complement the Shelby style hood
. I also have a front bumper I've yet to install I picked up both a front and rear in good shape for $35 on craigslist!
and these are my latest aquisitions my 77 f-150 4x4 that I put a 74 grill into and my 64 econo special
my wife wanted a vw bus but I couldn't let her do it after I found this sweetheart.

I actually thought replacement fenders were fairly cheap I think mustangs unlimited had them for $160 but since it's truck fright shipping that's nearly as expensive as the part is what makes it expensive!
Use CJ Pony. They have free shipping now so you just have to pay for the fender. I used MU until CJ started offering free shipping on their parts.

Hmm thanks that's really good to know, I was charged an arm and a leg for that new hood I got, I checked out your pics BA, very nice!, do you plan on keeping the I6?
There are some pretty cool 6 setups you can do, there are better ways to make hp but not much better ways to be different from the pack

I've allready upgraded the front drums to discs, but the rear will probably stay drums for a long time more, I figured I drove the car for so long with 4 drums that I'm happy just to have the a couple of discs on the car! Ivegot bigger fish to fry! Like getting a windshield I can see out of! Last summer I had saved the money for some aluminum heads but conveniantly my wife needed emergency wisdom tooth removal that cost $100 bucks more than what I had saved...sigh
Yeah I really need that windshield and a battery disconnect switch (since I relocated the battery to the trunk) to pass tech inspection at the local track so I can race, can anyone explain to me how to change the title of this thread since I haven't been 17 for some time and it has turned into your basic hotrod and not so much as the restomod that I had intended, it's funny how your tastes and preferences change! My wife paid me back though on our anniversary she surprised me with the money to buy that new differential, that was really nice of her
Yeah, these cars cost a ton of money. I've spent way too much on mine. I'm going to have to cool it for a while. lol
Here's my online photo album. Most recent pics first.

Very nice! you gotta love air conditioning in a classic car! That interior looks great too, I think that much red would maybe give me a seizure though lol, I'm very impressed. How long have you been working on it?
I got it in late May 09. I've had a new interior, dash pad, carpet put in. And the whole drive train overhauled, including the engine. Lots of money, but it should be mostly done now. At least I hope so!
