I would like to put power locks in my car. I was wondering how to remove the door panels without damaging them. :scratch:

Thanks

Talking

Carefully pry panels away from the door using a flat blade screwdriver wrapped in a towel or purchase a door panel removal tool from the auto parts store. The panel is made of pressboard and may break at the point where the clips are attached. Remove the arm rest, window crank, and door handle first.

What do I do if the pressboard breaks at the point where the clips are attached? I need to get the panel back on and not fall off.

Thanks

If you can't get the door panels off then maybe you should let someone else install those power locks.

I haven't even tried yet.
I was just wondering how to do it. I don't want to hurt my door.
I can install my own parts.

if the pressboard breaks:

1. find dogeared old copy of NPD catalog;
2. open to "interior" section
3. order new door panel
4. wait by mailbox

Ok

I will try to get around to it this weekend. I have a new gas tank coming this week so that is first on my list. last weekend I got the new radiator in and an electric trunk release with remote. I also have to put my speakers in. I am hoping to hear my big block again soon.

You can do it with a screwdriver but the likelihood of pulling them out is greater. Stop by VatoZone and pick up a door panel tool. It will help.
