How much should I pay for a 68 fastback
I'm asking for my brother who is looking at a 68 fastback the body is in pretty nice condition the paint job is nice but not great and there is not a lot of rust. There has been a lot done to it it has a 351W roller cam engine AFR 185 heads 4.11 gears dynoed at 377 hp/366TQ he is asking 20k. What is a reasonable price for a car like this and I know I am leaving out some information. Thanks for any advice you can give me.
I hate to answer like this... but it depends.
I honestly don't think that's too bad of a price compared to some other cars I've seen out there as long as it looks good and shines up decently. You don't want to spend 20K on a car that needs a paint job and body work right away. Anyone can build up an engine and put it in a piece of junk. Does it have a brake upgrade? other drive-train mods to help with the additional horsepower?
It depends on how bad he wants it, how he'll use it, and how much money he's willing to invest in it. 67-68 fastbacks have demanded a premium in recent years. A picture would help determine what kid of shape the car is in.

I'm thinking that if it's not really clean, it's not worth $20k. Not for a car with visible cancer. But a 68' FB is a hard to find car so the seller may just hold out until he gets his $20k. The only way a buyer can get his money back out of it would be a clean restomod job done to it since it doesn't sound original now. If you brother is really considering $20k, I'm sure he can find one with a really cancer free body for that price.
