Isn't there a small set screw in the bottom of it? An Allen head screw, maybe? I can't remember exactly.

Chris,

Did you get it? I had difficulties when I removed mine last month. It is a two part process. The key is at the top of the switch box. There is a spring loaded button on the top (it's the only thing on the smooth flat top portion. Push the button down, and pull the **** out(at the same time). Next, us a large flat screw driver to unscrew the center section out of the switch box.

That should do it, hope it works for you.

Craig

Yes there is a small button on the switch. Behind the dash. It is kind of hard to reach, push it it, then pull out the ****. It will come out with the shaft attached. Then unscrew the bezel from the switch.

Unfortunately the **** does not come off the shaft....... :nono:

Other posts have outlined the proceedure for removing the ****/shaft from the switch.

I got it!!!!! well kinda i had my niegbor come over and he used a cutting tool to cut the shaft then we broke apart the old switch to get the shasft out welded it back together and "viola" It wasn't pretty and my **** is half hiney but now i got headlights that work. I will have to get a new one and follow procedure because pullng on the old one with my locking plyers didn't work...Thanks everyone.

I don't quite understand why you even had to take the **** off in the first place. It doesn't have to come off to take the switch out.

i cut the **** off because the friggin thing was impossible to remove the **** and shaft from my old switch..I did it wrong i know, but i could not get this to pull out of the old switch..and i could not remove the switch, the **** would not fit thru the hole with the nut and bezel...So I butchered it..but all is well.
