yeah...Hedman Hedders Headers are the least expensive brand name longtube...I'm getting them very soon. check sig. Try-ys are cheap too....but do not look like they would flow as well as the longtube. 1 5/8" primaries on the Headman! May also want to look at the summit racing long tube headers... they are the cheapest I've seen. They have 1 1/2" primaries, but are 50 bucks cheaper.

Depends I suppose on what your doing, I got a GT40p headed 302 sitting in my garage and it was actually easier to locate a set of GT40p specific Tri-y's than it was 4 into 1 long tubes or shorties for that matter. Past that it becomes a matter of what sound your looking for, My two favorties being Flowmasters w/h-pipe or Dynomax Bullets w/x-pipe.

One can argue the merits of each design and the efficiencies of each, but without dynoing the combo its pretty much a matter of efficently expelling the spent gases without over scavenging the cylinder or creating situation where there is no scavenging at all and the motor has to do all the work of pumping the gases out.

a nice little read, with some useful points on why back pressure is generally not a good thing
