Engine vacuum....

Hey guys still trying problem solve this Holley I am thinkin I need a different power valve. In park my 1966 289 original motor is pulling 24 Hg. Seems like a lot or just real healthy. The valve I have in it has a 3 on either side and a 5 on the bottom. Ideas?

Are your throttle plates and choke plate set right? 24" seems like a lot of vacuum. Power valve shouldn't affect idle unless it is leaking a lot and messing up the idle mixture.

Then I sure wouldn't worry about the vacuum reading. Good job!
