Hey everybody, just wondering where the engine ID tag is on a 302. I have a 68 that has a 302 in it and I want to verify it's POSSIBLE that it's the original or not. I have read that the engine tag will at least prove what the build date is so that will help narrow it down. The vin says that it should have been a 289 but I have also read that the 302 2bl took the place of the 289 and that it's possible the vin would not have been updated. Your help appreciated ahead of time. (I believe it's on the fron of the engine somewhere but I have been unable to locate it.)

Thanks a lot. I was looking on the Front and not the side and since it has an add on air conditioner, I was never able to spot one.... Now with this pic I know exactly where to look.....Again, Danka.
