couple odd questions
Just had a couple odd question to try and find out some info, or opinions on....as always your time and feedback is appreciated..
- in our 68 fastback, how do you go about changing the oil in the rearend?
- our gas guage doesn't seem to be working, any thoughts on how to best debug the problem?
thanks.

There is no cap or drain plug on the '68 8" rear end....you must take the axles out and unbolt the center "pumpkin" and drain it that way....Ford should have had a better idea but they didn't.
Some people have tried with little success and choice words to suck out the fluid by inserting a hose into the fill hole...not recommended IMO.

2. if you have the original gas tank it may be the float mechanism, easy to drop the tank and change the float, btw I am sure you have checked all of the electrical connections.
3. Good Luck !
stink the gear oil out, said stink before, this was indeed a typo, btw, if you have never removed an 8" pumpkin and that is what you want to do, you will have to pop the axles out , and of course drop the driveshaft.
Anyway good luck again !
