Aluminum Pedal Pads
Here's another idea for those who want something different (& cheap!).
Depending on when you price them, TCP gets $60-$99 for their aluminum pedal pads for vintage cars. I found another solution, that besides being cheaper, has an added advantage.
UPR Products sells aluminum pads to fit late-model Mustangs, with several different engraving options. Price? - Retail is under $50, and you can occasionally find them on Ebay under $40. The "added advantage"? The sets come with a dead pedal included! B)
The gas pedal is a perfect fit size-wise. The late model pedal is slightly curved, but that's easily fixed in about 10 seconds with a bench vise. The late model brake and clutch pedal bases are about 1/4" narrower than the vintage pedals - a quick trim and some black paint, and no one will ever know the difference.
The dead pedal just mounts right below the dimmer switch. I made 4 1-1/8" spacers to hold the pedal up off the carpet, at the same height as the dimmer. Works great for stretching your legs on road trips and/or a nice bracing point for holding yourself in the twisties.
from me on this mod - it's cheap, it's easy, and it's different!!!

Note: Rubber cap added to dimmer switch since this picture was taken.

How about a beer tap handle for the e-brake? That would really look good.

[/b][/quote]Instead of a functional beer tap for an emergency brake, put a new windshield wiper bag under the hood, run the pump like normal, but instead, run the hoses through the dash to the glove box. Put in an emergency flasher switch in the glove box for the new pump. Fill the new bag with your favorite hard liquor that you like on to drink on the rocks (i.e., Southern Comfort, Single Malt Scotch, or whatever your taste) and serve mixed drinks on the road!
The big bonus you might ask? No open container in the car!
Believe it or not, but I knew a guy in college with a 71 coupe that had exactly this setup....

Center-hump mounted E-brake has been on my "things to ponder" list for a while now.....
