9" Tag decoding

I just bougt a '69 Mustang this winter and found out today that it has the original 351W motor in it, and most likely the original FMX transmission, then I got curious and wanted to see if the rear axle is the original one to my '69 Mustang. I canīt seem to find anywhere how to ID the small aluminum axle tag. Maybe someone can help me.

The Tag reads...

WES-T1 8LC
2.75 9 951A

I've found out that WES-T1 is a 9" axle with a 2.75 gear ratio, but I have no idea what "8LC" "9" and "951A" stand for...?

Can anyone please help!

The 8LC is the build date. 8 = 1968, L = December, C = third week

WES-T1 also indicates that it's a Conventional (open) differential

The 951A indicates the "Plant Coding" but I couldn't find the codes.

If the tag's still on the the axle, it's probably never been apart. More than likely because it's not limited slip and an undesirable ratio.

Hope that helps.
