70 mustang rear end

Hello all, I am new to this forum and I have a dumb question lol I have a 68 fastback that I am looking to change out the 8 to a 9". I found one on Craigslist with disc brakes. The guy said came outta a 70 mustang, I didn't think that mustang started rear disc brakes until later on? Would this be a factory disc brake rear end? Thanks for answering!

no a 70 would`nt have rear disc brakes but most likely someone put a 9 inch from a lincoln versalle ( spelling ? ) under it or converted it .. if it is reasonably priced and somewhat near so you can measure the distance between the leaf spring mounts go for it ..

I had him measure it and he said stud to stud its 65 and axle to axle its 59.25 does that sound right? It is a 3.50 posi rear with disc brakes but needs rotors and pads. He wants 600, reasonable?

someone esle will have to confirm whether it will fit .. i narrowed my rear in my stang .. 600 is good for a posi rear .. being a 3;50 it probably is a 31 spline ..
