Ok guys...has anybody done this??? Old body...everything new underneath.

The engine choice is wide open.....I want to burn 91 octane pump gas.
I'm thinking 4v Navi ported,cammed ,headers.What's going to fit under a stock hood? 4.6 s/c cobra?

Trans:Probably beefed up AOD trans.

Suspension:Coil-over front..weld-in rear chassis with coil over 4 link there.

Brembo 14's front, 13's rear.ABS kit.

The budget is to stay under $40k with buying the car.

if you are serious about a 4.6 in your car, I recommend checking with Dave Stribling at www.dvsrestorations.com

whats the coilover 4-link for? You a big drag racer?

Nah....just saw one in in an ad in Hemmings. It's a weld in sub-frame for the rear with all modern suspension pieces.Seemed like it was $2500 or so, which is about what Shelby sells a new front coil-over for with brakes.

I'll check that web-site.There was a 4.6 '69 on E-bay awhile ago.Thanks.

I don't have the time to hunt it down right now, but the owner of Air Ride Technologies has an awesome 69 that was featured in hot rod magazine about five months ago. You can probably find it on their site as a project car. Of course, it had their newest air suspension, and the car had the best looking stance I have ever seen on a mustang. I will hunt it down when I get the time, but I thought you would want to check the car out for ideas.
