68 FASTBACK GT
I went to my friends house last night and he told me he picked up a 68 Fastback GT w/ factory air for $2500. I said its gotta be a rat. Then he told me its been in a garage since 1982. The car is like brand new all origanal not one spot of rust on the entire car not even the floors. I went inside the car and even the interior was like butter. Unbeliveable thats all I have to say. The car must be worth 18 grand as is. I told him he steped in the biggest pile of poo in his life.

That's one of those stories most people only read, or hear about!
Don't you just HATE IT when that happens............to other people!
A friend of mine bought a 67 GT500 out of a farmer's barn 2 months before "Gone in 60" came out. Paid $16k for it. Drove it for a year, then cashed out at $40k. Heck if he'd waited another year or two, he could've made even more. Worst part - the car was within 2 miles of MY house, and I never knew it...

You are singing my song, two years ago I went to visit my dad's old friend and he was telling me about a 67 gt 500 that had been sitting in the same spot for at least 18 years that he knew of. I was to say the least excited and talked him in to showing me. We drove by and sure enough there it sat with a torn up car cover. I went to the door ( very reluctently, BIG dogs with no leashes) and the guy says that it is what we thought and that it is his brothers who lives in california and he wants $30,000 for it, and it's not worth it so be on your way
so I ask can I have his brothers contact info he then tells me to get off his property! So I leave tail between my legs and I'm still losing sleep over that car. Oh yea by the way It's still there!!! I drove by on sunday :bang:
Sorry didn't mean to steal your thread, just venting......

I found a 1967 gt fastback last year sitting in a field in Akien, SC. I ask the guy how much he wanted for it and he told me 4500... which i thought at the time was a little high concidering it did have rust and wasn't in the best condition but it was restorable...but i was in the process of taking car of my car at the time and my brother always told me he wanted a classic too so i told him about it and he bought it...and we are in the process of restoring it now...
(these are pictures of the car when we first got it into the shop...
