Ok
I'll check em in the morning.
I really hope this is the culprit because all I want is a diagnosis so I can move on to the next issue.
Haha

Valve seals, it was.
They've been ordered. I'll put them in tomorrow.
Thank you all very much. Onto the next one.

I'm putting the new seals in as soon as they get here. But, let me understand this...
My compression test was normal because the leaking oil sealed it up enough to make the test look right? That's just confusing and wrong, haha.

Ok
Mustangs unlimited sent me the valve seals... When looking at pictures I'm seeing 2 types.
The ones that I was sent

And the ones I keep seeing...

Are these the same things, or have I ordered the wrong part???

the bottum ones are an improvement on the uppers ... spring loaded to hug the valve .. either will suffice ..

Ok.
Finished the seals today and no more smoke. They were almost all broken into tiny pieces.

I appreciate everyone's help. I can finally drive my car and think about something other than smoke. On to the next thing.

something for you to consider .. do you know where all the rest of those little broken pieces of seals are .. they are floating around in your oil pan .. eventualy a small piece will be sucked up by your oil pump and lock it up .. then your distributor drive shaft will break and your engine will die .. if it is not a real drag pulling your oil pan i would do that sometime in the future just to clean it out and clean the oil pump screan as well ..

Thank you for the input.
My new oil pan and gasket came In yesterday. I'll be replacing it this afternoon. I'll make sure I get all the pieces out.

Curious to know if there's a magnet in the pan with shavings on it - my 69 had one and I don't know if it were done from the factory, but I cleaned them out and left the magnet in.

My current plug does not have a magnet.
The new one that I'm putting in ASAP will have one.

Not the plug - there was a heavy-duty magnet the size of about four half dollars hugging the bottom of the pan.

i think some aftermarket plugs can be had magnetic .. they used to put the round magnets in trans pans as well .. if it does`nt have one you can add one even if you have to stick it on the outside ..

Finally got around to changing the oil pan today. You were right. There were little pieces of valve seal all over inside the pan. Good information, I appreciate it.
