67' 390cid disireable?
i remember one of those with an automatic being stripped and junked at the salvage yard i worked at in the mid 70`s .. wierded me out how the steering wheel would swing away when you opened the door ..or something like that ...
Definatly a desirable car. 4speed is very rare since autos were extremely popular in the 60's and then to have that on a convertible is even more so.
almost any big block 4-speed car is going to be worth good money.
Market has taken a big hit right now with the economy talks but there are still people out there with money.

Yeah, Im selling my Harley davidson so I can buy this car and restore it. It's sittin in the bush, but the guy said he'd sell to me. The only thing it's missing is the tranny but I was told that they aren't coded really so I could just search for one and put it in. It sounds like a hell of a car to me

He bought it as a basket case 20 years ago.
Took him a while, but he restored it to perfect full stock original.
He said it appraised for $60K in perfect condition.
They built 940 4sp. 390 verts.
His equipment also makes his 1 of 1 (i.e only one built with that exact equipment).
I'm not trying to throw a damp towel, but I don't want you to think you could restore the car and get that kind of money.
Appraisals are almost always overblown. You'd be hard pressed to get over $45k for that car on the market even if it was MCA gold quality. Appraisals are usually for insurance purposes, which is why most banks shy away from them nowadays.

Of course the car I am talking about is 100% perfect, frame off, redone to all original specs. inside and out down to the last detail.
