66 mustang electrical issue

Hey! Was hoping someone might have a suggestion. I have a 66 mustang that started doing weird things last week, such as, lights running very dim & the stereo power cuts out. Last Tuesday I replaced the alternator, voltage regulator and spark plugs. It has a new solenoid (last year). It took a full charge on the battery, but took almost a full day to get it. This past Saturday I drove it to the lakeshore, but not before driving 60 miles to pick up my brother. It started up and ran fine twice. At the end of a very fun evening I get back in the car and it won't turn over...grind, grind, grind. I got a jump and drove back 50 miles and ended my day. The next morning I put a brand new battery in and it has run better than ever all week. This morning, half way to my destination it starts the same thing again with the lights and the radio. What is going on? A short somewhere? A ghost (lol!)? I have had this car for over five years and have had my share of issues, but this is a first. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

If your battery connections are clean and thight, I would check for loose or corroded battery ground connection to the body/frame. One other possibility could be corrosion in the main harness connector on the firewall.

Good luck
