'65 Brake Light Issue

I have a '65 convertible and the right side brake light is out as well as the directional BUT the tail light works...so what could cause this and what is a fix? I did change the bulb with the same results

As always thanks in advance for any help

Bad socket or bad wires somewhere. I'd suspect the socket, they do get corroded after time, and would definitely cause you problems if it's original and got wet over the years.

The turn and brake lamp is the same filament, so that explains why 'both' are not working. I'd not think it grounding, or the running light wouldn't work.

It could be the harness socket too.

I'm assuming that you're trying to say it worked at one point, then stopped, yes? I would like to be sure on this part.

Only other two areas are the turn signal switch or the brake switch... I want to say the flasher is what *breaks* the connection, causing the flashing, but I'm not terribly sure... I'd need a wiring diagram.

Don't suppose you added a sheet metal screw somewhere recently...

/And... I'm spent.

Houtex - thanks for the response - yeah it has worked since 1965 and just stopped this week, no new screws or body work. My front right direction does blink rapidly but not sure if that is because the rear is not working. Also the car is a garage queen and only sees water when it gets washed, so i am not sure if it water related.
