15" Tires on '66

Looking for tires for my '66 convertible. Have a set of 15" Mag Stars and looking at 215/60/15 size. Wal-Mart seems to be the most competitive locally and can order General Altimax HP tires. Can get a set of 4 mounted and balanced with road hazard for right at $425. What size is anyone else running on 15" on a '65 or '66?

I ran 225/50-15 on all four corners when I had the 15" wheels. Not to wide and not to tall. My car is lowered a good amount too.

Its $314 through discount tire for falkens, valve stems, and certrificates for warranty. Free shipping through them. When I used them they added like $1-$2 for a wed fee. So its not too bad, then pay to get them mounted ~$80.

I looked them up and printed out an estimate before I posted. Could get a set of the Falkens mounted and balanced for $403.57 if I wanted to drive to Franklin, TN. Im 15 miles from Wal-Mart and have had good luck with warranty issues on tires and batteries with them.

Ah ok, I've only had experience with those 2 companies on ordering tires.

Hi Nosboss, I'm looking for some rim-wheel info, my set of tires for the front are: 215/60/r15 these tires every now and then rub on the fenders when turning and since you used 225's I was wondering if you know the offset of your wheels...

I'm running 225/60/15's on all corners.

15x7 front with 3-3/4" Backspacing
15x8 rear with 4.50 Backspacing

I had 15x7 wheels with 4" backspacing on all four corners. The main difference was that my tires were a 50 series and shorter overall height.
