Ford Reveals 60th Anniversary Mustang—a Nostalgia Love Affair!
Only 1,965 of these special 60th Anniversary Mustangs will be available, but you’ll have to wait several months to get your hands on one.
A few days ago, we showed you a tease from Ford for the 60th Anniversary Mustang. As promised, Ford revealed the full package on April 17th, the same day the original Mustang was revealed to the public in 1964.
Only 1,965 of these specially-equipped Mustang GT Premium coupes and convertibles will be available. Like the S650 Mustang itself, the 60th Anniversary package combines retro and modern features.
The 60th Anniversary Mustang will be available in Race Red and Vapor Blue – both current Mustang colors – but Ford also raided the classic color palette for this model. Wimbledon White, the classic creamy off-white hue seen on so many early Mustangs, will also be available.
Classic Good Looks
Contrasting side stripes in Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red are reminiscent of the original rocker panel stripes. These will pair will with the 60th Anniversary badging, which is also designed to resemble early Mustang badges.
These Vermillion Red and Ebony Black badges will also be found on the unique 20″ wheels. These wheels are finished in Dark Gravity Gray with bright machined details. The design is a nod to the original styled steel wheels, but updated and modern.
Other updates include a unique mesh grille with Iconic Silver accents. Race Red and Vapor Blue 60th Anniversary Mustangs will also have Iconic Silver mirror caps.
There are also three options for interior colors – Space Gray, Carmine Red or Black Onyx. All 60th Anniversary Mustangs will have a serialized dash plaque.
Our favorite interior detail isn’t actually exclusive to the 60th Anniversary model. Any 2024 Mustang owner can update their gauge cluster to display classic ’67-’68 Mustang gauge faces. If you have a 2024 Mustang, make sure you have Automatic Software Updates enabled in the Settings menu to get your hands on the special birthday present.
If you want to get your hands on a 60th Anniversary Mustang, you must be patient. Like the original, it’s being introduced mid-year. You’ll be able to order it at your local Ford dealer in the summer, and take delivery towards the end of this year. Don’t be too patient, though – with just 1,965 60th Anniversary Mustangs available, we expect them to sell out fast.
