Is there a more perfect combination than this Grabber Blue 2024 Ford Mustang GT and these beautiful islands?

The 2024 Ford Mustang has been around for a few months now following its successful launch, and in that short period of time, has watched both of its chief competitors – the Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro – disappear from the earth. The pony car will likely be facing some sort of competition moving forward as both of those cars are seemingly destined to make a comeback at some point of some sort, though it’s unclear if either will be available with a V8 or manual gearbox. That’s something of a shame – even for die-hard pony car fans – but it makes Top Gear‘s recent scenic tour of Hawaii in a 2024 Ford Mustang GT even more of a victory lap than it already was.

Top Gear actually drove a Mustang around the U.S. back in 2014 to help celebrate the car’s 50th anniversary, but didn’t make it to Hawaii – only the other 49 states. Thus, they set out to correct that oversight by shipping a brand new 2024 Ford Mustang GT to the islands, covering it with stickers, and even strapping a surfboard to the roof – because, well, why would you bother going to Hawaii if you don’t take advantage of one of its greatest assets?

Personally, we just enjoy soaking in the epic views that Hawaii has to offer, from the ocean to the mountains and everything in between. Along the way, our host discusses the 2024 Ford Mustang GT and notes that while it isn’t terribly different from its predecessor, the car has been tweaked just enough to keep it relevant – as well as preserve the formula that made it so great in the first place.

Ultimately, our host can’t help but come away impressed, noting that driving a machine like this in postcard-perfect scenery is “absolutely glorious.” The Grabber Blue pony car is also a huge attention grabber around the island, where locals tend to gravitate toward pickups. However, there’s also a strong car culture in Hawaii, as our host discovers via a local group of Mustang fans that have been meeting up for over 30 years now.

Ultimately, this road trip of epic proportions makes for a perfect match – “a happy, fun car to bring to a happy, fun place,” as our host points out. But then again, it’s also the perfect way to prove that the Ford Mustang remains a beloved entity not only on the mainland portion of the U.S. – but pretty much everywhere else around the globe as well.
