2021 Ford Mustang RTR Series 1

Ford Mustang RTR Series 1 is a comprehensive, dealer-installed offering limited to just 500 total units.

RTR has been cranking out cool custom Mustangs and parts for the pony car for years now as the brainchild of Formula Drift driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. It has also quickly caught on with the Mustang faithful, as we can see from the abundance of S550s out there in the world rocking RTR grille lights if nothing else. Now, the company has updated its turnkey offerings with the addition of the 2021 Ford Mustang RTR Series 1.

Limited to just 500 unis, the 2021 Ford Mustang RTR Series 1 is the outfit’s entry-level offering, which means that it’s mostly just an appearance package, though there are some performance upgrades to note. As a dealer-installed package, it can be ordered along with EcoBoost Premium and GT models, which get a wide array of upgrades as a result.

On the outside, those include the usual RTR front grille with daytime LED running lights, a front chin spoiler, rocker panels, a Gurney flap, rear-quarter splitters, a rear diffuser, revised puddle lights, and of course, RTR badges. The whole thing rolls on a set of unique wheels measuring 19×9.5 inches in the front and 19×10 inches in the rear.

Inside, the Series 1 receives a host of upgrades including embroidered floor mats, an RTR shift knob, a serialized plaque on the dash touting how rare your ride really is, and serialized side sills that do the same. If that isn’t enough in terms of bragging rights, the RTR Mustang also comes with a certificate of authenticity and a serialized key chain for bragging on the go.

Performance upgrades are limited to the suspension and consist of an aluminum strut tower brace, but the rest depends on which model you start with. Non-MagneRide suspension models get Ford’s Track Handling Pack, while MagneRide models come equipped with the Ford Performance MagneRide Suspension Kit.

The cost for all this goodness is $6,296, though dealer installation will tack on another $1,200. But if you’re a fan of the way the RTR Mustang looks or just want something a bit more special (and rare) than the average new pony car, this seems like a solid way to go.
