Ford Mustang Drifters at the Freedom Factory

Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Chelsea DeNofa show off their surpreme skills behind the wheel of their Mustang racers

We never get tired of watching Formula Drift drivers and Ford guys Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Chelsea DeNofa compete, no matter how many times they do so. Both are also actively involved in our hobby outside of motorsports as well, as both are true automotive enthusiasts who love the Ford Mustang, just like us. Regardless, Gittin Jr. and DeNofa have more skill in their pinky fingers than we’ll ever possess in our entire bodies, and that much is clearly on display in this awesome video from Ford Performance.

The duo of drivers were able to bring their Mustang racers down to Bradenton, Florida recently and visit the Freedom Factory. Formerly known as DeSoto Speedway, the race track was abandoned some time ago before being purchased by famed YouTuber Cleetus McFarland. Now, McFarland uses it to create content and just generally destroy tires, and there’s a lot of that going on in this video as well.

Since this is no sanctioned facility, there are no rules for this tandem drift. Thus, Gittin Jr. and DeNofa are happy to slide around not only on the track, but off it as well. The two proceed to rip around the outfield area and its narrow piece of tarmac, dancing in unison like some sort of choreographed unit. They also come perilously close to a few obstacles, including McFarland’s GT500-powered Crown Vic he calls “Neighbor.”

All the while, the two Mustang racers are chased by a drone, which provides some killer footage of their driving exploits. It’s pretty clear that these guys have two of the greatest jobs on earth, because even their recreational activities are little more than practice for their professional careers. And not just any average Joe is going to get free reign of a facility like this, that’s for sure.

But if we put our raging jealously aside for a moment, we can simply appreciate this short clip for what it is. And that’s an incredibly entertaining display of supreme driving skills. It also makes us laugh when people say that a Mustang can’t corner, because clearly, these two are more than capable of going exactly where their drivers want them too. But that probably has at least a little something to do with who’s behind the wheel.
