Witness the Ford Mustang Evolve from 1964 to 2018 (Video)

With the upcoming release of the 2018 Ford Mustang approaching, brush up on the history of America’s legendary pony car.

The Ford Mustang, along with its compatriots the Chevy Camaro, Corvette, Dodge Challenger, and Charger make up America’s muscle car dream team. Despite being competitors of each other, the horsepower-crazy bunch represents one of the many reasons why American steel rocks.

Of course, the Mustang is superior not only in terms of performance, but also in the outright beauty of its design. While most pony car aficionados already know this, this awesome video by the folks at Donut Media does an excellent job of depicting the icon’s history through the last 53 years or so.

The video begins with the granddaddy of them all, the 1964 1/2 Ford, and progresses through noteworthy cars such as Steve McQueen’s Bullit, the Mach era, the iconic Fox body, the stunning Cobra R, and the newest variations of the S550 Mustang.

While we would’ve liked to see a bit more info on each model, most of the major talking points are covered. Needless to say, every fan out there will pick their own favorites.
