I just went out running some errands (rebuilding a 90 year old toilet ) in the Boss enjoying these "bonus" days up here in the great white North. I'm sure 55 degrees and sunny doesn't sound that great to some of you, but for mid-November it's quite balmy

I ran both keys alternately and no offense, but if you can't tell a difference between the two, I think you need your butt dyno recalibrated When driving TK I feel so much more connected to the car. The throttle response is much more linear, it almost feels like it's directly connected to your foot if that makes sense. Driving with the black key feels much more like driving any old street car. It's very smooth and comfortable, but almost feels like there's a slight lag, or non-linear feel between accelerator input and throttle response. I know I'm going to prefer TK on the track as you just get so much more direct feedback from the engine. I will be interested in more track reviews as you guys get more seat time with TK.

What hypocrites, those darned CARB officials!

My fingers are crossed that the '13 GT500 will something similar to TracKey available as well. If the purported 5.8 liter engine does indeed have variable valve timing, ala Coyote based variants do, it would seem to be a natural. We should know in a week as the introduction is rumored to be at the LA auto show...

Since I can't enjoy any of the benefits on my GT500 I did as much as I could, including adding the Boss quad pipes to my existing system. Here's some quick footage of it on my car with no attenuation discs in place...

Under light load, video degrades after a couple of minutes...

Writeup I did on my install here.

No lope at all on my car, even with a 725 hp FRPPWhipple kit on it. I'd pay for it in a heartbeat were it available, as the blown factory has a warble sound to it that drives me nuts. Sounds like the following clip...

My "done up and cammed" '90 coupe has a lope that puts my $50,000+ GT500 to shame. Clip starts at 21 second mark.

I envy the opportunity you guys have to add TracKey to your cars and hope that Ford uses it on more than just the Boss cars in the future.

Hahahahaha. Just like messing with you guys. It's a great car. Not as fast as mine but great.
Just can't believe all the whining and crying going on in a few threads here. Certain problems are just unforeseen by even Ford. Things happen in first year editions. That engine and trans sounds bullet proof though. They did a great job with that for sure.

You keep calling it that, but how is it different than the fixed duration events of a wild camshaft in another engine? Continued development of variable valve timing is now allowing cam timing to change from simple sewing machine like tenor to track brawling knuckle dragger simply by using a different key. How do you beat that?

I hear you loud and clear. Until last year, my home was privy to three antique commodes. Swear I spent every other Saturday rebuilding some brass or copper crapper that wasn't designed to work with chlorinated water. But now that I've gone modern, I sing the praises to Lord American Standard..

So my dealer thinks it's because they are an Autonation dealer. Anyone else with that issue? I also called to one of the other local dealers. They've installed 3 successfully including one yesterday and I brought that to the attention of my dealer. Too bad they closed at 3 and are 8 miles further away.

They say that having a lopey idle is quite bad for the supercharger drive. OTOH, my twin-screwed Cougar has a perfect sounding cam lope that gives me a funny feeling in my pants, so I can certainly understand why so many are disappointed that it's not all that on the Boss.

Nice!!! So you did end up getting into the 11's

(I'm the guy in the red Cougar you were going to give a ride to. Boss deal fell through, but on a positive note I got a sweet Kona Blue '500 that I really like.)

#740 Performance white. LOVE the car. TK installed without difficulty. Definitely more fun and responsive with TK (primarily due to throttle response/braking). Like others, I'm disappointed with idle, but just as much with the lack of increase in torque in the lower rpm's (based on dyno results being posted). These things were promised by Ford.

As TK is simply a software package, there's reason to hope for future updates or possibly a non-CARB state trackey version. I personally feel we should voice our honest opinions and unhappiness to FR and keep up some pressure. FR engineers must be dissappointed and frustrated with CARB's control. Not FR's fault. Just hope they don't quite fighting the fight.

TK installed on mine in about 45 minutes and the dealer had never done one before. Got a 30% discount and they only charged 55.00 labor.

Car now has a much better throttle response but I just don't see that much more engine braking than it already had. Hasn't been on a track so I can't speak to that. 'Lopey idle' sounds pretty wicked but I am running Rousch Stage 3 AB and my side pipes are open. Took the 3/4's out the day TK was installed. Not as 'lopey' as my '69 back in the day but much better than most that are around today. Have had several comments of the type 'a little loud but sounds good'. Definitely rattles windows when downtown! All in all I have to say I am happy with it.

I never received my CARB EO sticker. Not that I really care, just saying.

That reminds me, my son received this sticker for his new 2012 Focus last week along with a letter telling him to remove the sticker from the factory and replace it with this one. Apparently all cars aren't 50 state legal. I'm assuming this doesn't prevent it from being sold into a CARB state in the used market
