Radio display scratches removal

How do you remove fine scratches from your plastic radio display cover?

You already have scratches in only a month???

I'd say plastic lens polish.

I have them on mine(11) too. I think it was probably done in the dealer new car cleaning process.
Doesn't really show unless you look at it closely.

Dealer is supposed to leave the plastic film on it for the owner to remove just for that reason.

Somewhere on here is another thread on this topic. The gist of it is this: The non-navigation radio display screen on the 2010+ is very delicate. It's extremely easy to scratch and trying to repair the scratch will only make it worse. The best thing a person can do is put a screen protector (like you would put on a cell phone screen) on it before it scratches. Like the day you buy the car. No one makes a screen protector that is pre-cut for this screen but you can buy one made for a laptop screen and cut it down yourself. InvisibleShield by Zagg was highly recommended.

Meguiars makes a couple different plastics cleaner/polishes. I have used this to polish out fine scratches in CDs and DVDs. http://meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+M1008

You can ask a Meguiars 'surface care specialist' by phone or e-mail too.

I'm pulling the trigger on a piece for my Electronics Pack. The last thing I want is the screen scratched all to hell.

We're referring to the standard radio display, not the Electronics Package touch screen. The touch screen should not scratch easily. In fact, I would advise against putting a screen protector on it. Most screen protectors are glossy which will probably make it difficult to see the screen.

Right. The screen on the Electronics Package stereo is a touch-screen. It's meant to be touched. It's the screen on the non-nav stereos that people are having problems with.

Sometimes the dealer removes the sticker. The car I drove this weekend was already exposed and scratched!

Radio Scratch removal

I have a 2011 Mustang gt and the dealer removed the protective cover off mine and left scratches on the radio face, I tried to buff it out and it made it 10 times worse. I ended up masking it off with masking tape and then used a dremel tool with dremel compound to buff out the whole radio face, then finished it off with mequiars plastx, looks like new again, thinking i might get a screen protector for an ipad and cut it to fit mine

Do you have a link or part # for the 'dremel compound'? I tried using meqiuar's plastic polish and made my worse.
