Air ride suspension

Air ride suspension
I was wondering if anyone put a air ride suspension on their cars yet. I'm curious to know how the ride is and if its worth doing. Advantages/disadvantages? I've never done this before so I wan't to get all the info before I do.

It is worth doing if you want a nice cushy ride that automatically adjusts for weight, and then poorer response in the corners as the airbags compress pretty good and don't compensate as well, causing the car to slosh a bit. But in a straight line, yes, it is niiice. When right.
Also, $3000 for a kit. Yeah. I think I'd do something else, myself. I had air suspension before, on a Mark VII and VIII. Big bag of 'nope' before I do it again, ever. Almost came to swap out for a Tbird suspension that VIII, it was that horrid. I hated that car, and was SO glad to have it stolen from me by force.
/true story. **** thugs. No new holes in me though, so good trade. Bye devil car.
//Of course, that's me, and I don't like it much, especially the cost of a strut.

Basically I'm trying to get a car thats a cruiser. Something that'll soak up bumps and still handle like stock. I can't lower the traditional way because I scrape at stock height on my driveway curb, and pot holes are hell in certain places in my area. So something I can just lower and raise when need be is ideal. I'm not worried about losing some performance around the turns either.
A system that has preset heights would be good too because I would have to lower and raise it everytime I leave and enter the garage. So I'm sure I would quickly get tired of manually doing it.

I have had several suspension types installed in my Shelby since day 1 that I had bought it. Stock suspension for 2 weeks, eibach R1 coilovers for a year and then changed it up to air bags for 3 years now. I have had my latest bags installed since November 2012 and WOW! Air Lifts new Track Pack air bags are freakin awesome!!! A hybrid between a traditional coilover and an air bag. You get teh threaded body housing with locking nut to adjust a static ride height like a true coilover but then you get the added benefit of an air bag instead of the spring for additional dynamic height adjustments. Top it off with 30 position dampening control **** and viola! Better handling then alot of high end coilovers and you can lift the car with the touch of a button to get in and out of agressive driveways or over speedbumps without damaging your undercarriage or scraping/breaking a splitter etc.
I have an install there posted here. Let me find it for you.

If you are wanting a great performing bag suspension at a great price, nothing can touch Air Lift. I have had both and I cant justify spending higher price for the competitions.
Air bags, for the most part, dont add any additional weight. Actually in some cases it reduces weight. I saved 10 lbs alone on the front struts with Air Lift. Then when you add in the rears, added tank, compressors and valves you can end up with a few lbs savings. I got an aluminum tank so I had more savings vs steel tank.
