I have the shaker 500 with manual ac...I had the defrost on and the temp cold

I turned it off and I heard a noise like a vent closing so I turned it back on and above the compass there was a fan logo lit up and the bars next to it kept going up...then disappear and go up...I then shut the defrost off and it went away

Can't get it to replicate it

 

Holy Cow, this also happened to me today and I was about to post it! I could replicate it by hitting the power button below the defrost button at the same time. All of a sudden the outside temp & compass disappears, I hear a clicking noise,a fan icon appears with indoor temp listed at 00. I looked all through the manual to figure out what all the icons look like in the radio center screen without luck.

 

I just tried that and I got what you described

On mine last night just the fan logo appeared and the bars kept going up

 

Easter egg or gremlin?

 

Mine has doen this several times, and it looks exactly like the ones in the Taurus ect... I think its for climate control..

 

same crap has happened to me in the past. I managed to snap a picture awhile back... I don't even have the digital fan speed display.

 

Mine happened again tonight! How Ironic..

 

If your clicking noise starts to increase, perhaps it has something do with a failure of the blend door actuator. See this post.

Mine did this too a while back. I think it's just the sequence of the buttons pushed. Hasn't done it in like 3 months.

 

I'm not to worried, like cjjiii said I think its just a sequence of pushing buttons. If I can determine what buttons it is and I can replicate it on demand I might show the dealer.

 

i can get theirs to replicate no problem by hitting the power button below the defrost button at the same time

i still can't get it to replicate what it did for me, which was only the fan logo and the fan bars which kept going up
