Ground clearance with FRPP 1 in Handling Pack

Well I officially have no more worries about ground clearance with the 1 inch lowering kit.

This morning on my way to work. On a road that I travel every day, some brain surgeon decided to put 2 huge speed bumps. You know the one that are wide enough you could put your whole car on. They are becoming very popular around school playgrounds in the city here. They are fine and serve a good purpose. But they installed these last night with a little itty bitty sign all the way to the right. Not painted, no caution horse or big construction sign, or anything. You could barely see it in the morning light if you were looking for it. And I definately wasn't looking for it as it wasn't there yesterday

Well I hit it at about 30 mph, never saw it or slowed down until I was like WTF. But the car didn't scrape anything and took it like a champ. the speed bump must be raised about 5 or 6 inches higher than the road. The Lincoln town car behind me wasn't so lucky. All I saw was big sparks coming out from under his car

So overall I was very impressed

Good to know. For the next couple of years I just want to work on paying this car off, but I've been giving serious thought to getting the FRPP suspension package with 1" drop down the road. How does your car ride on busted up roads, in comparison to the stock suspension?

You can feel the road a little bit more. But it is not bad at all. I think the ride is great but opinions may vary. I am used to driving on "sport suspensions" though and it compares to most others I have had (G35, acura cls, & BMW M3 vert). Much less jarring than my old 06 M3 vert.

FWIW, that's not for the convertible. Shotzy has the FRPP handling pack specific to the convertible, same thing I need.

I had the strut brace already and did not need to spend $1000+ for the kit.

I really wanted to drop my car about an inch, but I didn't realize it was $1360.
A lot steeper than I had anticipated...

Shotzy,

Did the 2011 suspension kit come with everything needed for installation? I'm particularly referring to the front suspension components. From my understanding, the strut mounts were changed for the 2011 Mustang and, for that reason, some retrofit components are needed from a donor 2005-10 Mustang to install the suspension kit correctly.

I'd sue for repairs on none proper notice or warning ! I did it with my Cougar before they fixed a road left loose debrie all over & it took out my windshield, I nailed them for it !

If just lowering the car is your only goal it can be done for much cheaper than that. I wanted improved handling as my main goal. The drop was just a bonus.

It came with everything needed for the front and back.
