Lower Price on Spark Plug Extraction Tool?

Hmm, I had read that the tool for extracting a broken spark plug ran $200, but Snap-on is selling it for $89 right now. I plan to remove my plugs soon, and at ~ 50,000 mi, I'm nervous as hell. I hope it all goes smoothly, but if there is a break, $90 ain't too shabby compared to the potential cost of having someone do it and paying the extra labor charges (or god forbid messing with the heads). Not a bad price for a little insurance. Wonder if its returnable if its not needed.

Now only issue will be avoiding breaking off the porcelain in the shield.

That is a good price. When I did my F140 I broke 3 plugs and reverse engineered my own extractor. Basically looks exactly the same. You probably won't need it, but nice to have on hand in case you do! Good luck. Just remember, WARM engine. I suggest doing one bank and then restart the engine to warm again. I takes some time to let the plugs soak before you go to back them out.

Nice finds. I'm sure those work just as well as any of the others.
