Tennessee Dealer Sells 700-HP Mustangs for Only $40,000
Surely, a full warranty-carrying, brand-new Roush supercharged Mustang for $40,000 is too good to be true.
The cost alone of a Roush Phase 1 Supercharger kit for the beloved Coyote 5.0 is $7,600 alone. The base price of a 2020 Mustang GT Fastback is $35,630 without any options. We are no math experts, but that sure seems to add up to a fair bit more than $40,000. Luckily for us, though, Brown Lee Ford in Morrison, Tennessee, is making the impossible a reality.
The heroic management team over at Brown Lee Ford is offering Roush supercharged Mustangs for a starting price of $39,995. That is not a typo, and it’s certainly not April 1st. A whining force-fed V8 Mustang can be yours for merely $4,500 more than the base MSRP.
So What’s the Secret?
So, how is this possible? Is this dealership even making money off of these deals? Luckily for us, Roadshow by CNET has some insight to offer. According to the author, the higher the volume a Ford dealer moves, the cheaper they have the opportunity to purchase the cars. Thus, the more you sell, the more profit room you receive. It’s safe to assume Brown Lee Ford is a pretty high volume dealer, so they are gaining some decent discounts there.
Here’s where it really starts making sense. Brown Lee is a Roush Master Dealer. Thus, they do enough selling and installing Roush products to receive the best pricing. Therefore, they can put these monsters together and sell them for less of a profit than they could likely get out of them. However, the publicity of this price point is probably going to drive sales volumes through the roof.
It’s essential to keep in mind that this is a starting price. Thus, it does not include any options. Things like brakes and tires are worth considering upgrading with this amount of power on the table. The color choice is limited at the starting price, as well. You have your choice of Grabber Lime or Twister Orange.
Still, we have to admit the temptation is there for such a killer price. Especially if you’re nowhere near the dealer, you will get the opportunity to have a nice long cruise with your new toy all the way home.
