2015 ecoboost mustang

The 2015 EcoBoost Mustang is the first Mustang to have a turbo since the SVO in the late ’80s. The turbo is now back and better than ever. With over 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, it’s no slouch, even though it’s only packing a four cylinder. However, for the 2015 Mustang, one of the biggest selling points for Ford’s press office was that the Mustang finally ditched the live rear axle in favor of an independent setup.

Now this has been a very hotly contested decision, with internet armchair generals declaring that the live rear axle was the best option, or that it should be offered due to nostalgia. However, with more and more reviews coming in, those claims are slowly but surely falling to the wayside.

To add to that decline in ridiculous reminiscence, watch as Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire runs the new Ecoboost Mustang through the canyons of Malibu, California, absolutely hitting the limit. Something that the old car couldn’t do with its live rear axle.
