This Clean 2JZ Swap Fox Body Is Okay By Us

2jz swap

Some will swap in an LS motor. Some will swap in a Coyote. But this guy reduced the cylinder count when he went with a 2JZ swap. Actually, since this one started out as a 4-cylinder car, he dramatically improved it! Starting life as a lowly 1992 Mustang, this 2JZ swap is now fed by an 86mm turbo, and all of that power is sent to the wheels through a Powerglide. And it’s fair to say this baby is no slouch.

The car’s best pass so far is a 7.87, but in the video below, you can see some traction issues held up the launch off the line. The car does get a decent pass at the later part of the video, putting down a time of 8.76 @ 173mph. Though it is still a little strange not to hear a booming V8 as it heads down the strip, but hey, fast is fast. It’s also one of the cleanest swaps I’ve ever laid eyes on, with all of the ugly stuff tucked away and out of view. That’s something that any gear head can respect.
