Stranded Mustang Becomes Impetus for Timeless Television

Stranded Mustang on Television

Who knew a stranded Mustang could be a pillar of Emmy award-worthy television? It’s not that a bright-colored Ford pony car isn’t up to the task of creating lively programming; it’s just that usually a Mustang needs to be involved in a high-speed chase to be compelling. But apparently not.

Well, at least not in the case of a local television news team member at a Kansas City, Missouri Fox affiliate. A traffic reporter by the name of Nick Vasos was totally infatuated with a red Mustang stranded on a highway, as highlighted in the clip below.

The news reporter even took to Twitter to discuss the red Mustang that had a tire replaced while stranded. The seemingly mundane situation evolved into a feature story in itself, as the car sat on the side of the road for almost two hours.

Now, you certainly won’t get any argument about the appeal of a red Mustang from any of us here, but we understand you may be thinking this is overkill. A red 2016 Shelby GT350 stranded on the highway? Maybe worthy of a few extra minutes of airtime. But zeroing in on an older model for a local news story is a little odd, we’ll admit.

Still, watch this video, and prepare to be amazed at how captivated you’ll become. We promise, most of you will be unable to turn away. It’s weird, we know, but just go with it.
