Ordered mine today as well. Hopefully they fit convertibles.

TJ,

For us Boss 302 exhaust owners... Can you confirm if the locations highlighted in the attached picture are the correct mounting locations for the rails? The photo of the rear mounting holes shown in the instructions is zoomed too closely to really tell.

If I've got the mounting holes correct, I don't see how the Boss pipes would interfere but I'd want to be sure before ordering.

I received my S197 Jacking Rails today and installed them this afternoon. Quality pieces and the installation took about 1-1/2 hours -- and I'm slow.

They do fit convertibles, but the instructions sent apply only to coupes. The convertible has extra bracing and they mount where the existing holes in the undercarriage are shown. The rear of the Steeda jacking rail will slide under the rear brace on the convertible, similar to how the rail mounts to the front of the car. You have to re-use the existing bolts in the rear which are longer than the ones Steeda supplies. (The coupes don't have the existing bolts since they do not have the extra brace.)

Here's a picture of the rear of the jacking rail installed under the rear convertible brace.

Yes - the holes you have circled are where the jacking rails mount.

For the Boss exhaust owners, we would be willing to do a discount on the jacking rails for a test fit - if you are interested, shoot me an email at tim@steeda.com.

Best Regards,

TJ

It is kind of hard to believe that no one at Steeda has a car with the boss exhaust to do a test fit.

TJ.....just sent you a email about test fitting tne new S197 jacking rails on a Boss 302....I have both a 2012 and a 2013 so I'm actually interested in two sets.

If I can help with a test fit to make sure they fit, let me know.

Thank you !!

Mine were delivered yesterday. I just unboxed and they look good. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I get time to install them. Weather here in Tennessee is miserable right now, but should be back in the 60's next week.

I was wondering if you had to do any scraping of body sealant in order to make it fit?

I didn't on my particular car.

On the S550 - some customers had to reduce the amount of sealant because the rail didn't sit completely flush.

I hate to be that guy, but does this mean you're 99% sure that the install went exactly the same as a coupe without the pipes?

Or did only 99% go according to plan, meaning there was some improvisation required?

No, I am 99% sure that the kit was ordered & it is being sent to the test fitter.

I did not work the deal, one of our sales professionals did.

The customer should have them shortly & should be doing the test fit.

He emailed me from this forum & I am not entirely sure who the customer was or what his avatar is on this forum.

I will get with our team & send the test fitter a message & see where we are at.

Sorry for the confusion - I was on my phone when I sent that last message & could not convey the message that clearly.

Best Regards,

TJ
