I finally went in and ordered my own 2008 GT this week
. Thanks to everyone for the help. The order process was extremely easy. I will never just get a car off the dealer lot now.
Special thanks to Jed (JedCranium) for recommending the sales guy and Jeff (05fordgt) for helping me with the pricing. Pics in 6 to 8 weeks when I get delivery.
Let the modding begin!!!

Im reading this and see you are ahead of me--im thinking the same way with a special order..
my thread is also in this forum..
Do they have you pay half down or is there a "normal" percentage they are looking for?
i have the weekend time loss going on now and my job is taking me away from home --so i have to do it when im not on duty pretty much..
is the time running the full 3 months as others have said or does it seem to depend on what you are ordering--C/S vs GT prem or ??
will follow your progress with great interest--

It's definitely worth it to order the car . You get exactly want you want and love the car more because it was made just for you. The order process was the easiest thing in the world to do. It look less then 20mins since I already knew exactly want I wanted. Ordering my Dell desktop took longer then ordering my mustang.
I was told it takes 6 to 8 weeks for the car delivery from the date ordered. I believe its the same for a CS. The dealer allowed me to leave a small deposit to place the order because they checked my credit and saw that it was really good. Having a sales person that knows what they are doing really helps a lot.
Waiting for the car is the most fun/difficult part. I want it now.
