Is Phoenix Graphix messing with my mind with this '70 stripe?

Did Ford ever put out factory Mustangs with THIS type of stripe?
I'm 48 and don't ever remember seeing one of these on the road at
any time. Totally by chance, I was looking thru a Ford Mustang Trader
and saw a Grabber Orange '70 with THIS stripe. (This pic is from Phoenix
Graphix' website...)

Thanks,

Stan

According to this site http://www.mocsem.com/szkrybalo_2.asp it is one of two styles of stripe on the 1970 grabber special.

However, the Mustang Grabber Registry website http://1970mgr.org/index.html

indicates that this might not be the case. Here is a quote from their site.

The Type 2 70 Boss 302 style stripe kit has come into question as to whether or not it was an actual variation of the Grabber Special Value Package. A known original Mustang with this stripe kit was researched and the invoice does NOT list the Grabber Special Value Package as an option ordered with the car. This stripe kit was first shown as a Grabber variation in the 1981 Mustang Recognition Guide. The Mustang Grabber Registry has learned that this was an assumption made during the making of the Recognition Guide, from pictures that were compiled for the printing of the book. Due to the lack of the stripe being reflective, and other factors, it is now conjectured that this stripe kit was a possible stripe kit option that dealerships might have bought from Ford to help sell the remaining units on the lots. The regional dealerships that may have participated in this sales program are not currently known. When any further information becomes available, the Registry will be updated here. Research is currently underway to determine the origin and purpose of this stripe kit. Although the Type 2 stripe may have been a dealer installed option, the Mustang Grabber Registry still thinks of them as a "sister" car to the Grabbers and would like to have them registered as well.
Info above comes from here http://1970mgr.org/Members/_StripesDifferences.htm,

Thanks, gang. I knew I could count on you. BTW, I've secured 'www.grabberorange.net'... not sure when I'll have it up but WILL at some point...
