There might be some four-thousand miles across the Atlantic Ocean that separates us from the United Kingdom, but when it comes to love for Mustangs, it’s clear that we are a lot closer than some might think.

You need look no deeper than a recent report by Car Buzz to get a sense of exactly how much Americans and our friends across the pond have in common in what we find appealing about the s550. That said, we’ve pulled five of the biggest similarities below, as detailed by Car Buzz’s Adam Lynton during his recent test drive in a Mustang GT convertible around London.

The Look – “This particular GT rolled off Ford’s Flat Rock plant, in Michigan, with an optional Oxford White paint job, which contrasts beautifully with the black 19-inch multi-spoke alloys and black cloth roof.”

American Muscle – “Make no mistake, even with the much-lauded independent rear axle, and not forgetting the fully independent front suspension, the 2016 Mustang is still a simple beast.”

Going Topless – “I also opted for the Convertible. Because, well, I’m English and despite of (or is it a flip of the bird to?) the perennial precipitation, us Brits love a good drop top.”

Power First – “At this point it is worth applauding Ford for giving buyers the option of a four-cylinder EcoBoost, but for Brits wanting to live the American dream, it has to be the V8.”

Price – “…it’s just under 38,500 GBP (40,330 tested). That is half the price of a fully loaded BMW M3.”
