After a month of driving the new 2018 Mustang GT, this owner seems to love everything about it.
The host of the Neo Auto YouTube channel recently upgraded from his 2010 Ford Mustang GT to a 2018 version with the Performance Pack. Not surprisingly, after a month of driving the refined and refreshed muscle car, this guy has nothing but good things to say about the 2018 S550.
Meet the Car
This 2018 Ford Mustang GT first-month review video begins with a walk-around with the host, where he runs through the features of his new pony car. On the outside, the got the stunning Orange Fury paint and the components of the Performance Pack including the black wheels, performance tires and the rear wing.
Although he original didn’t care whether he got a base or premium, he wanted a 2018 Mustang GT in Orange Fury with the Performance Pack and a manual transmission. Once he drove a new model with the Premium trim level and the Recaro seats, he added those to his list of requirements as well. After some searching, he found the exact car that he wanted so he bought it and brought it home.
While introducing us to this new muscle car, the host shows some of the interior features while letting us hear the 5.0-liter V8 roar with a few quick, hard revs.
Neo Auto Mustang in Action
After showing us the basics of his 2018 Ford Mustang GT, the host takes us out onto the open road for a quick cruise and review of the driving dynamics. He points out that it is quieter than his 2010 Mustang and it is comfortable enough to serve as a great daily driver. He explains that he bought a new model with the manual transmission because it is more fun than the auto, and we get to ride along as he makes a quick run through the gears.
Finally, he introduces us to the Drag Mode’s line lock feature by doing a monster burnout, with a variety of camera angles inside and outside of the car offering us a great look at the new Mustang GT roasting the rear tires.
He plans to modify this car, but in the meantime, this YouTuber is happy with the upgrade from his 2010 Mustang to the new 2018 model.
"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.
"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.
"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.
"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.
"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.
