Straight off the proverbial trailer, this supercharged 2024 Ford Mustang GT ripped off an amazing pass on pump gas, and there’s much more to come.

The proverbial paint is barely dry on the S650 generation Ford Mustang after it debuted for the 2024 model year, but as is typically the case, we didn’t have to wait long before a plethora of performance upgrades launched for the newest pony car. This bevy of parts includes, of course, a variety of superchargers, because as we learned with the S550 generation, the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 responds incredibly well to boost – even without any other upgrades. That is also the case with this Whipple supercharged 2024 Ford Mustang GT, which amazingly ripped off a low 10-second quarter-mile time on its very first pass.

This Lethal Stage 2 Whipple supercharged 2024 Ford Mustang GT belongs to Derek Baran, who just finished installing that new huffer on his ride. He proceeded to take the pony car on its first road trip, where it performed flawlessly, even returning a solid 23 miles-per-gallon while tooling along at 75 mph. On the dyno, this combination put down 750 horsepower at the wheels, which is stout but pretty much on par with what we’ve come to expect, and since this is a 10R80 10-speed automatic-equipped car, it should also be rather quick on the drag strip, too.

With nothing but 93 octane pump gas in the tank and a drag pack wheel and tire setup out back to help with traction, Baran heads to the track to see just how well this upgrade performs in the real world, and it’s quite shocking, to say the least. In fact, on its very first pass, this supercharged 2024 Ford Mustang GT recorded a 10.05-second pass at 136 mph, which is seriously impressive – especially when we consider that the car is otherwise stock, save for some Eibach springs underneath.

Even more encouraging is the fact that this is Whipple’s first revised tune for this combination, and the new one is slated to add another 50 horsepower, which should easily get this car in the 9s. Unfortunately, Baran will have to make some repairs before that can happen, as the car broke on his last pass attempt after a slightly slower 10.7 run, but we imagine that it was time to beef up that drivetrain, regardless.
