Up for a Game of Pool… on a Mustang?
Ford has teamed up with a company to offer a very unique collectible for true fans of the pony car – a pool table modeled after the original 1965 Mustang.
The 4×8-foot pool table, built by CarPoolTables.com and officially licensed by Ford, is shorter than the original car at 119 inches long, but it strikes a remarkable resemblance to the American icon.
Tony Utegaard, co-founder of the Florida-based Car Pool Tables, said the fiberglass body of the table was designed from an actual 1965 Mustang found in a salvage yard used to create the mold.
“We go and find the actual car, cut it up, shorten it, weld it together and then we make the model of the parts,” said Utegaard, in an official Ford press release. “We’ve immortalized the original Mustang so that fans can enjoy their favorite car at home or on the road.”
The body panels of the pool table, which sales for $9,900, are available in any of the factory colors offered on the original ’65 pony car. Even the trim of the table details elements of the actual vehicle including badges, bumpers and working headlights.
The Mustang pool table comes with a set of alloy wheels and tires.
“We joke in our shop that someday people will be stripping our pool tables for the parts,” said Utegaard.
