Supercharged 780 HP Geiger Mustang Pegs Its Speedometer on Autobahn

It’s pretty clear that this Geiger Mustang has plenty more left in it, but traffic and a 160 mph speedo are the holdups.

We often drool over some of the cool cars the rest of the world gets that we can’t have. But the same goes for the folks that live in other parts of the globe, too. Just take the Ford Mustang, for example. The American staple has been on sale in Europe for some time now, but the aftermarket support there pales in comparison to what we enjoy in the U.S. Luckily, there are some tuners across the pond, however, and buyers can snag awesome rides like this supercharged Geiger Mustang.

Geiger Cars is a German-based tuner that specializes in American vehicles, which is great news for muscle car fans on that side of the world. They also did quite a bit of work on this attractive S550 Mustang, which is packing a supercharger under the hood. We aren’t told what other mods this particular car has, but it is reportedly producing a healthy 780 horsepower. And that’s more than enough to have a little fun on the legendary Autobahn.

Yes, while the U.S. beats Germany in terms of the size and scope of the Mustang aftermarket, we don’t have a stretch of road quite like the Autobahn. The famous piece of tarmac has large chunks devoid of speed limits, allowing drivers to explore the limits of their fast machines safely.

Thus, that’s exactly what the driver of this Geiger Mustang is able to do in the very cool video below. The car is, as you’d expect, an absolute rocket. It gets up to triple digit speeds in no time, and the driver nearly pegs the speedometer on a couple of occasions.

That proves somewhat hard to do with a decent amount of traffic on this particular day, however. Regardless, the driver gets pretty close to the top of the Mustang’s 160 mph speedo a couple of times, and this car obviously has more in it. There just isn’t quite enough room to get there. Or a high enough number on the speedometer.

Watching this only makes us jealous of our German friends, who can do this sort of thing without having to worry about losing their license or even spending a night in jail. But on the same token, we imagine they look at our plethora of Mustang parts and immense culture and feel a little bit envious, too.
