Speculation About New Mustang’s Interior has People Talking
However, comments expressed on a thread on The Mustang Source over the past month reveal that there’s just as much concern about what’s planed for the interior of the next-gen pony car.
Concerning the possibility that Ford might push for a more contemporary look with the 2015 model, Cobra member 97GT03SVT, thinks a retro interior would be “kind of silly,” but urges the Detroit carmaker not to abandon all of the old school styling cues inside.
“I just hope we keep the retro style steering wheel, one of my favorite parts of the S197 interiors,” he said. “I do hope they move away from the hard to read retro script in the gauges though.”
Mustang forum member RandyW has a few tips for Ford when it comes to the car’s Nav system.
“I do hope the navigation screen is mounted high,” notes the Cobra member. “You have to take your eyes fairly far from the road when the nav screen is mounted lower.”
Added GT member, Liquid, “I’m really hoping for a flat bottom.”
Twin Turbo, a GTR member, is hoping for some new updates in line with some other competitors in the segment like the Nissan 370Z.
“I’m… Hoping there will be steering wheel paddles for the autobox, not just the selectshift of the auto gearlever like we have now.”
MadMoose, a Bullitt forum member, is a lot more optimistic about the inside of the upcoming car based on other current new Ford models.
“I’m just as excited for the new interior as I am for the new exterior design,” he writes. “Ford’s been doing some amazing stuff lately. Can’t wait to order a 2015.”
