Small Block Ford Mustang Smokes the Competition!
It’s Getting to the Point That It’s Rare to See an Actual Ford-Powered Ford Vehicle at the Drag Strip.
Is it just me, or does every car at the drag strip nowadays feature an LS engine? Last I checked, Ford trucks had LS engines, Mazda Miatas had LS engines, and even track-ready Ford Mustangs had been LS swapped! What’s going on here?
It’s getting to the point that it’s rare to see an actual Ford-powered Ford vehicle at the drag strip. Thankfully, this awesome footage, courtesy of 1320video, brings us a mighty-powerful small block Ford Mustang kicking ass at the strip. As a result, we’re pretty darn excited!
Just because this Mustang isn’t LS swapped, it doesn’t mean it’s not fast. This video does a great job of showing us just how capable this pony car is, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. An 88-mm Precision turbocharger takes care of business, as it propels the Mustang with 27 psi of boost! Of course, a massive parachute is in place to slow things down when needed.
The engine package was built by Competition Automotive in North Carolina, and it looks to be a pretty serious and reliable set up. Though for some odd reason, no final times or speeds were published.
Enjoy!
