Slammed Fox Mustang Renderings Have Us Smitten and Snake-Bitten

Stance not your thing? Relax, it’s only Photoshop.

We like wild photoshop renderings as much as the next guy, but what we really enjoy are “phantom” cars that look like they could be the real deal. This series of Fox body Mustang renderings from @personalizatuauto thankfully falls into the latter category.

Starting with an ’87-’93 GT hatch, the artist digitally dropped the Mustang on its framerails. In real life, this would probably be accomplished with air suspension, although adjustable coilovers could theoretically get the car like this, too. It just wouldn’t be very easy to drive on the street.

Some say “static is life” and “bags are for groceries.” Us? We just like to drive our cars and enjoy them, too. We’d like to be able to raise this thing up a bit before we drive off. After all, it’s be a shame to scuff up those nice lips, bolted onto the factory bumpers and skirts. We’re glad that @personalizatuauto didn’t go too crazy with this one. The center exhaust with the wrap-around rear diffuser is a nice touch.

Low, Deep and Wide

There’s also a subtle – but quite wide – set of fender flares at all four corners. This provides clearance for the super deep dish, multi-piece five spoke wheels, wrapped with stretched tires. There’s some intense camber for clearance, which we’re sure will upset some of the Mustang faithful here. Relax, it’s just for pretend.

To get that kind of camber on the rear, we’d have to imagine that the stock solid axle was swapped with an IRS. There’s no details about what sort of drivetrain this thing has, but we’re imagining a narrowed SVT Cobra IRS, fed by a Coyote or a wicked Modular V8 backed up by a T-56.

Other details include a very cool metallic olive green color. It reminds us a bit of Stirling Green, an Aston Martin color named for famed racing driver Sir Stirling Moss. It’s an appropriate color, as @personalizatuauto has dubbed this concept “Reptilian.”

We also dig the LED headlights and taillights. They give this Mustang a modern look without being too modern. Overall, it’s one of the better Fox body Mustang renders we’ve seen all year.
