Low-mile Terminator Cobra Mustang Seeks New Home

By -

Joined by a 2014 GT500, hardcore Terminator Cobra Mustang only traveled 5.5 miles since leaving the showroom back in 2003.

Seventeen years ago, Ford’s SVT Engineering decided the Mustang Cobra wasn’t hardcore enough. Thus, they unleashed the ultimate thunderhorse upon the world: the Terminator. The 4.6-liter modular V8 provided 390 ponies and lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through the famed Tremec T-56 six-speed manual, thanks to the Eaton supercharger mounted atop the big motor. It doesn’t sound like much these days, but back when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Oakland Raiders at Super Bowl XXXVIII, the Terminator Cobra was the monster lurking in the dark.

A few of the 19,000-plus Terminator Cobras made 2003 and 2004 remained in the shadows, though. New YouTuber Briton Jennie (a.k.a., Girls Dig Mustangs) visited the home of podcaster and fellow new YouTuber Brandon Bickmore to check out a 2003 Terminator in red, with the lowest miles on the odometer we know of.

“I started collecting Mustangs five or six years ago,” said Bickmore. “Ran into a guy, bought a GT500, 2014, wrapper […] About six months later, [he] started calling and said, ‘Hey. If I find cars, do you want ’em?’ I said, ‘Sure,’ so we found this red ’03, non-dealer-prep with a silver ’03 Cobra that had about 1,600 miles on it in a garage in Layton.”

Bickmore took possession of both cars from the previous owner’s estate, though the silver Cobra was sold to Bickmore’s friend. The red Terminator, though, remained in his possession since the discovery. And what a discovery! Between the two owners, the red pony only traveled 5.5 miles, four of which were put on by the original owner.

“I cannot believe this only has five miles on it,” said Jennie. “It’s 17 years old, and only five miles. That’s crazy […] And look at this! I didn’t know this, but it actually came with this watch […] this is the coolest car I’ve ever sat in in my life.”

Not only does the Terminator still has every bit of plastic and tape it arrived from the factory with, along with the watch, it also comes with an SVT mug, a workshop manual, and all of the documentation anyone could ever want, all in the trunk.

“[It’s a] 2014 [GT500],” said Bickmore of his blue pony. “It’s also a wrapper, and it also only has 31 miles on it. It’s got a few more miles than the ’03 Cobra. It’s spectacular. Brought it in probably 2015 from a guy that purchased it and had it for a couple of months.”

Bickmore is parting ways with both the Terminator and GT500 as of the video, both of which will need a lot of work to get them ready for the road, or can be just put on display in their current, plastic-covered states. Either way, a good time awaits for everyone.
